-2- WRAITH III NO.4 UNIT (b bed) - Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} end of camshaft and fit wheelcase with glass disc in preparation for camshaft out of truth tests. B.III NO.5 UNIT. This unit is being assembled in shop for 15,000 miles test. Following running in on bed for new parts, pistons, and big ends etc. (a) Power curve open exhaust. (b) Valve bounce speed and inspect whether push rods have been fouling the tubes. (c) Run 1 hr. oil consumption, repeat if above 2 pts/hr. at 4000 r.p.m. Use Mot. C. Check that there is no oil leak past rear bearing as this is now standard. (d) Check induction system as previously tested on B.III No.1 to confirm that it is O.K. (e) Pass off gears for quietness. (f) Generally tune up and cure all leaks etc. (g) Note rocker oiling as rocker bushes are non-standard and produced by Vandervells. (h) If passed off ensure that doubtful parts are inspected before unit goes in car. In any case the rear bearing thrust washer should be checked. (i) Check detonations on Shell and Redline at TDC (std.) setting. GENERAL. When filters have completed pipes for fitting the "General" filter despatch through HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/WSC.{W. S. Cassel} complete with filter bracket unions in the filter, but not the filter itself to the Paris Depot. | ||
