Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 9th inst.

At the moment we are not willing to put in hand a special axle beam. We have in progress some experiments on our own brake layout to reduce inefficiency of the working parts. Until we have completed our tests of this scheme, we think it best to postpone further tests on Girling brakes.

We agree with you that if we do the job at all it should be done properly so as to incorporate all your features, and for this reason we suggest postponing for the time being further tests.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
