To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X6016 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/MJ.18.7.32. 25 HP. DYNAMO. I think you would like us to point out that the only tests that have been carried out with the improved dynamo are very short tests on the bench, and so far we have not had one of these fitted to an engine. Another point is that I do not believe we are justified in adopting this dynamo without carrying out more tests because we are not having many complaints. It has been P.N. who has criticised the dynamo. There are times when we are in desperate trouble when it is necessary to adopt modifications without waiting for tests, but I do not think the present 25 HP. dynamo comes under that category. We should say that it will take a further four to six weeks to complete sufficient tests to justify sending along a Standardisation Sheet. We would like to have your views.
