A scheme has been produced for a rubber exhaust suspension. We propose to fit one to a car for experience. 6. Oil Cooler case cracking. There have been several failures of the metal casing of the oil cooler. These have cracked causing water leaks. Investigation has proved that the ones that failed have been bought out and the metal has not been satisfactory for die casting. The present ones are being made at the Works. 7. Bye pass oil filter collapsing. This is recieving D.O. attention. 8. Over-oiling 'DL' series, fouling ignition plugs. This has been proved to be due to top over-oiling. A scheme to cut down the excess oil on the valve stems will shortly be issued. 9. Knocks from side steering tube. This trouble is receiving the attention of the D.O. and the Works. 10. Service trouble with hydraulic tappets after carrying out a top decarb. This has been cut down to a minimum by not dismantling the rocker units (i.e. taken off complete and not disturbed).
