Re. 43-RG.{Mr Rowledge} Lord Rocksavage.

We have received your memo PN{Mr Northey}7/DN28.8.22, and in accordance with your instructions will arrange for a 14 tooth axle to be fitted.

With regard to the previous instructions that CJ. had agreed that Lord Rocksavage should be supplied with a chassis to meet his requirements, as previously pointed out, we gave this matter careful consideration and came to the conclusion that to give Lord Rocksavage the chassis to meet his requirements, we were of the opinion that the chassis would have to be fitted with a high compression engine and 15 tooth axle.

It will be remembered that 107-MG which was on the Riviera in the early part of last year, and with which Lord Rocksavage was favourably impressed had a 14 tooth axle, but we were of the opinion that to give a speed of 70 miles per hour a 15 tooth axle would be necessary.

We now understand, however, that you have definitely instructed for a 14 tooth axle to be fitted, and we have modified our instructions accordingly. We presume that the high com ression engine still stands?
