A.C. Lovesey, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Limited, Derby. Dear Mr. Lovesey, I clean forgot when I was at Derby last Friday to ask you whether there was in existence such a thing as a lantern slide or slides showing the "R" type engine. I am reading a paper on the "Blue-Bird" at Leeds next Monday and I have succeeded in getting several slides of the Napier engine, and should naturally like to include the other as well. I wonder if you would be good enough to drop me a line by return and let me know about this and whether I could borrow them if they are in existence. Alternatively perhaps you could let me have a photograph or two which I could make a slide from. If this is necessary, [handwritten: turn] then time is rather short, so perhaps you could send me a copy with your reply, that is if your Company have no objection to their use in this manner. With best wishes, Yours sincerely, [Signature: Reid A Railton] | ||
