X106. To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/KT.19.8.32. PEREGRINE BRAKE AREA. The Peregrine Wts. are } .637 tons front Empty } .75 tons rear. The brake areas/subtracting rivet countersink area) are 74 sq.ins front and rear. This gives, Brake area/Ton. Front 116 sq.ins. Rear 98 sq.ins. The present 25 hp. brake area is Front 72.1 Rear 123.0 Incidentally the deficiency in front brake area on the 20/25 is clearly shewn up on our 10,000 miles tests, the front drums usually being the ones that score. The point we wish to make is, can the Peregrine rear drum width be increased 10% or so without complications? If so it would make a better braking system though the existing proportions are not at all bad. We compared them with other cars in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/AD6.12.30. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
