X.3600 RE "GOSHAWK" TEMPORARY CONTROLS. ------------------------------ We have not yet received some criticisms which we understood you proposed to send down regarding "N" Scheme 664 (3 sheets). In the meanwhile we have looked into one or two of the points raised and agree that a little modification is desirable. For instance, we have altered the trunnion joint at A and B, strengthened the trunnion pin, and we have also altered the locking device from knurled nuts to hexagon, as we did not care for the knurled nuts. Enlarged views of these two joints are shewn on Sheet 1. We should be glad if this modification could be carried out on the controls, as it only represents very slight alteration. With reference to the question of pinning and clamping levers, this arrangement being only temporary, we did not consider it worth while spending a great deal of time drawing, and according-ly there was a verbal discussion with your Section Leader, and we explained that you wished you to choose which lever should be pinned, and which should be clamped in any particular case, so as, if possible, to use existing pieces. We think this arrangement was quite legitimate under the circumstances. We are sorry to find that the ignition lever works the wrong way. We have shewn the bracket reversed, which overcomes this trouble. We send you two blue prints of "N" Scheme 664 herewith. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
