(14) Shock absorbers.

We are still receiving a number of complaints from customers as regards noisy shock absorbers. It has been proved that a small amount of slack in the joints of the shock absorber can be heard by the passengers in the car. The trouble is not with the ball joints which can be adjusted, but the joints in the shock absorber itself.

We hesitate to increase the load on the shock absorbers because of the possible increase in wear. The maximum wear on the rear shock absorbers at present is 85 lbs. although on light open touring car we have increased it to 120 lbs.
