Messrs. Rolls-Royce,Ltd., Date 25.11.26. Page 2 We would ask you to bear in mind during the trial of these gauges as at present installed, that the tanks should not be filled to the very top of the side fillers, otherwise the surplus may run out from the vent tube, or if carried to the top of the side filler, the filling up of the tank completely will bring the liquid dangerously near the top of the gauge glass on the dashboard as at present arranged. We have to thank you for the facilities given on the occasion of the writer's visit, and can assure you that if there is any further assistance we can possibly give you, the matter will have our immediate attention. Up to the time of his leaving, the gauge on the 40/50 h.p. car appeared to be standing accurately, and we trust that they will both continue to function correctly. We think from the calibration test of the 40/50 h.p. tank as at present arranged, that the markings are not quite correct, and we would welcome the opportunity at some future date of a glass tube calibration of both these tanks, so that we may arrange final models for your test and experiment. Assuring you at all times of our best attention, Yours faithfully, H.M. HOBSON, Ltd., [Signature] Director. | ||
