For the attention of Mr. Hives.
Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd.,
Nightingale Road,
Derby.
Dear Sirs,
We beg to inform you that since the writer has returned to London, he has seen our Mr. Moss, who informs him that owing to the arrangements which you have made for the fitting of the parts in the petrol tank of the 20 h.p. experimental car G.3, he was able to complete this installation before leaving your works the next day.
From all appearances, the calibration of this tank was satisfactory as far as it went, and it should suffice for your immediate trials.
It is understood that a re-arrangement and re-calibration would be necessary on our part, to meet the requirements of bringing our vent tube into the top of your side filler, in the case of both the 20 h.p. and 40/50 h.p. chassis.
