| To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. 240 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.12/AP.23.6.37 We hope shortly to standardise Marston made dummy shutters on Bentley. This of course necessitates a water temper-ature controlling thermostat, and while we want to standardise scheme LeC.5055 as soon as it has completed 15,000 miles, we shall have to standardise the thermostat scheme which was fitted to 3B.L.V. for its last 15,000 miles test (LOP.EB.309. sheet 4.) However, we can reduce the cost of this scheme by 7/6d. if we modify the thermostat bellows unit as shewn on Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}369 attached, in order to enable the thermostat makers to adjust the valve head to the correct opening temperature. With this scheme we should send the casing and necess-ary pieces to The British Thermostat Co.Ltd., and they would assemble the thermostat in its casing, adjusting it to the correct opening temperature. Will you therefore detail the necessary parts for this scheme and have three sets made - we will then send them away for the British Thermostat Co. to build up in this manner. We should like these pieces as soon as possible. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. | ||
