A. {Mr Adams} Healey, Esq., The Dunlop Rubber Co.Ltd., Fort Dunlop, Erdington, Birmingham. Dear Healey, I rang up to-day but could not get hold of you, so I spoke to Lambourne. The new tyres seem very promising. I have sent them off to London by passenger train. I have written to Mr. Sidgreaves and told him that if they wanted to depart from the old type Dunlop 90 tyres known as the 90.L.R, we should recommend that they use this new tyre rather than the chamfered edge tyre, in spite of the fact that its adhesion is a somewhat unknown quantity. At the same time I said that I was of the opinion that the Dunlop Company would agree to standardising these tyres, and that they did not anticipate that the adhesion would be worse than the chamfered tread. If you do not agree with this, perhaps you will let me know and I will correct it. I have asked Lambourne to prepare 2 sets of these tyres for English work and a further 2 sets for our Continental tests which will be begun almost immediately.
