Mr. Symons, Messrs. H.D. Symons & Co.Ltd. Kingston Hill, Surrey. 27th March, 1931. -2- Our principle reason, however, for utilising a high voltage test apparatus, which probably has not occurred to yourselves, is that it was not specifically arranged for testing papers but more particularly for testing other and thicker insulating materials such as fabric or paper base bakelite moulded plates. We also use the same apparatus to test for leakage at various temperatures through our bakelite coil cases. In such cases, in order to have an appreciable leakage current to observe, a high pressure is very necessary and further in a good many cases the insulation has to stand such high pressures in normal use. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
