X1588 BY/C8/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 23. 9. 21. Chat. C. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} With reference to the 10-Gallon Drum and 1-Gallon Tin of Clynol "C" Motor Oil, which has been sent to us by Messrs J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} and D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Hamilton, Ltd, Glasgow, will you please have this sent along to the Experimental Department so that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} can make use of same. The reason that these samples have been sent to us, is that a partner of the above firm has purchased a Rolls-Royce Car, and naturally, from his point of view, he is anxious that we should at least test the motor oils as manufactured by his firm, with a view to doing business, but we have pointed out to him the various reasons why it is impossible for us to change from the oils we are at present using. We thought that if Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} could give us his opinion on these oils, without going to much trouble, we can then write to the customer and finally, but politely, inform him that we cannot make any change.
