[STAMP: RECEIVED]

Thanks for Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/MJ.6.6.31. I am pleased to note that RRC was able to fit up a car quickly working direct from off the WW scheme.

I was under the impression that this was going to be fitted to the car that you were going to send for 10,000 miles test as referred to in recent correspondence, but I note from the last paragraph that, unless WW make any criticisms, you will push forward with a set of parts to BY's drawings, and when these are fitted, send the car to France.

I should be glad to know how long this is likely to take.

The point about this whole matter which I do not understand and on which I should be glad to have information is as follows:-

When R.{Sir Henry Royce} was in the South of France and you and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} were struggling with this matter, i.e. at the time we were having occasional conferences and meetings at St.Albans, the diamond mounting was dropped because, whilst it was successful on one car, results showed when fitted to another car that it brought other troubles with it such as excessive jellying.

I presume there is some difference between what has now been fitted up and the type utilised then, which it is expected will overcome this trouble but I should like information on the point.
