To Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} from EFC. EFC1/AT13.11.19 X.3066 - RE STANDARDISATION SHEETS We are not yet quite clear in what instances it is desirable to issue standardisation sheets for changes of practice on the standard chassis. For instance, we have recently made a small change to the distributor rotor, also a change of the connections on the coil and two other minor changes in the electrical connections, now we are proposing tl change the springs of the starter motor. There is further the question of the change of wiring from Lucas to Glovers. We assume that in the first few instances standardisations were not necessary but we are already getting out such a sheet in the case of the wiring. We cannot quite decide in our own mind whether a sheet should be issued for the change of springs. Perhaps you can give us some ideas so that we shall know definitely in future in what cases it is better to issue standardisation sheets. We are referring, of course, to standardisation sheets in connection with the electrical equipment as it has been arranged between Mr. Hives and myself that he is responsible for the issue of sheets in connection with non-electrical parts. The work of putting through all standardisation sheets, however, is still carried out in this office. EFC. | ||
