Copy to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} +304 F Dodd E/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}6/MN. 13th. February, 1935. Messrs. Park Ward, 473, High Road, Willesden, London, N.W.10. Dear Sirs, Re Continental Touring Saloon - 32-EX. We confirm conversation with your Mr.Ward when at your Works on Monday last. 1. We are endeavouring to obtain a set of four door-shut buffers as fitted to Buick cars, and if we are successful we shall be sending them to you in the course of a few days. 2. We agree to the use of outside hinges on this body using three hinges per door. We suggest that the hinge pin be fitted with a lubricator. 3. We send herewith prints of LeC 4346 showing the extra body bracket which is being fitted near the rear foot of the cross, and a print of LeC 4358 showing a similar bracket fitted on the chassis third cross-member. We see no reason why these extra brackets should interfere with the construction of the body but we suggest that you will wish to fit them to your jig. 4. It is agreed to panel in thin steel the outside of the cantrail from the screen pillar to the back of the head of the body, and to cover subsequently this panel with the normal aluminium panelling. The steel panel, we suggest, should be screwed or bolted very securely to the wooden cantrail, and the sunshine roof rail as well as to the transverse connecting ribs. Contd: | ||
