X8250 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M6. 7. 25. To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 7-EX. X. 8770 MR. ROYCE'S CAR. X. 8250 X. 8260 The line of the bonnet and radiator was criticised by Mr. Royce on Sat. and we have looked into the possible cause. It seems to be that the side hinge has not sufficient taper. We send herewith N.sch.2026 shewing how we suggest the radiator and bonnet should be modified to obtain the appearance Mr. Royce is looking for. Taking out one row of tubes and dropping the tank gives us we think just about the right inclination of the hinge. If possible we suggest this should be done before the car comes down again, the appearance of the bonnet being a matter of such vital importance. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
