10,000 MILE PRODUCTION CAR. 12-EM.

Referring to the above car, I note in EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}'s report EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}21/H23.11.23 he points out that there are a certain number of loose spokes in the road wheels. I do not feel that there is any reason for spokes loosening up on the 10,000 mile trial only, and therefore I think it most desirable to put the facts of the case before Col. Matthew and suggest that we return the wheels to them for their examination and report.

In returning the wheels the point would be, that we would like the wheels most carefully examined from the point of view of spoke tightness, in order that the Dunlop Co. may be able to inform us just how these spokes worked loose, as obviously since the car was only running three weeks, during which time admittedly it did considerable mileage, one does not find any justification for loose spokes under such circumstances, and therefore I think we can profitably refer the matter back to the Dunlop Co, with the object of obtaining from them some reason for the spokes becoming loose. If this could be done, then no doubt the Dunlop Co. could be attending to the particular feature which was at fault in this set of Wheels, and give us a better product from the point of view of this specific complaint in the future production.
