BATTERY SUPPORT B.3 & B.50 Due to the difficulties experienced from the inaccuracy of the Hand-Smithed Frames, packings have been included between the cruciform member and the battery box. We should like to emphasize that the project for the B.3 and B.50 frame is to spend approximately three times the amount of money usually spent by us for tools, in order to obtain an extremely accurate frame. It would be useless to spend so much money for tools if we did not avoid the cost of putting in such adjustments. It appears to be very doubtful whether a box is actually required for B.3 and B.50 batteries. We feel certain that the most economical arrangement would be for a Frame-maker to supply a battery tray which is riveted to the frame. ROY {Sir Henry Royce} /Les. | ||
