Many thanks for your letter reference Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}18/KW of the 25th instant regarding the trouble you had with the French Authorities at Hendaye because the Spanish Customs had inadvertently taken an entry voucher from your Carnet. Why the French Customs should get very alarmed about this I cannot possibly understand, because all they had to do was to cancel the volets which were out of order, and use the next entry voucher of the Carnet. No question should arise with the Spanish Authorities, and I shall not need to trouble you to have the car driven to Irun. I will, however, keep the matter in mind and file your letter with the Carnet when you return it. Yours faithfully, F.P. Armstrong SECRETARY. | ||
