18770 SECRET. To BJ. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to CJ. FN. c. to CWB. c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG2W.2.25. 'EAC' 'V' SERIES. Towards the end of next week, we should like you to try 44-PK car again. This is the EAC. fitted with the double enclosed limousine body. Your comments on this car the last time you tried it - reported in BJ6/Hl3.2.25 - were :- 1. Steering very stiff. 2. Explosions in exhaust. 3. Very noisy exhaust. 4. Engine vibration at slow speed rather excessive. 5. Foot brake inoperative. 6. Clutch unsatisfactory. We consider we have now made definite improvements on this car as regards all these items. We should therefore like you to try this car again because our suggestion is that we should keep this car at the Works as a model which has been approved by Sales. At the same time, we should also like to bring to London, 46-PK car which it an open touring car of 'V' series type. It is the latest experimental car we have completed and we should like your criticisms on it. We are expecting E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} at the Works early next week. It would suit us if you could arrange to try these cars on Friday the 6th. March. We could arrange to leave one of the cars with you over the week-end. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
