To EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}1/MJ.30.1.31. ROAD SPRINGS FOR CONTINENTAL TOURING 25 HP. X5410. With reference to EVl/28.1.31. We propose the following road springs for this car :- Rear. - Free camber 2.43" Pos. Loaded camber 1.41" Neg. Buffer clearance 2.725" Neg. Front. - Free camber 1.05" Pos. Loaded camber .650" Neg. Buffer clearance 1.300" We agree that the front springs may prove rather too stiff, but as they drop the car .650" we think that we certainly ought to try them. It is surprising at speeds below 40 m.p.h. (seldom used) how stiff the springs can be without affecting the riding comfort. We suggest that it will not be necessary to fit Hartford's to this Continental Touring 25 HP. as we ought to be able to get all we require from the hydraulics. It is rather difficult to be dogmatical until we have tried the car so sprung. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} | ||
