ENGINE UNITS.

Bentley 'S' B.19 Unit.

This Unit, received from the Repair Dept. has been completely stripped for 100% inspection. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} pointed out that this was a very special unit and was to be pushed all possible to get same running on the test bed, FN was requested to work the necessary overtime.

B.80.No.1 Unit.

On test. modified tappets etc. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/Vic and Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} are working in conjunction with AG.

B.80.No.2.Unit.

Ready for test since 10.2.39.

B.80.No.3.Unit

AG reported that he would complete the machining of all the details for this unit by 22.2.39. FN promised to have the unit ready for test by 6.3.39.

B.80.No.4.Unit.

A provisional date for completion of the machining of all the details for this unit was given by AG/ for 20.3.39. with a view of passing to test on 27.3.39.

B.80.No.5 and 6 Units. Conventional.

It was stated by HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} that the conventional units are to be held up until further instructions are issued to proceed, this includes holding up of pattern work.

B.80.No.1.

Returned to shop after 50 hours endurance test. to have 100% inspection, and measurements taken with report on same.
