Very many thanks for Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/T17.12.28. and the information given re dates for the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Experimental chassis. As regards the 2nd one, 19.EX. the body is being collected on Friday of this week. I think we can safely say that the body could have been ready earlier if Hooper's had not in the first place to wait some little time for the sub frame. As regards the 3rd, No. 20.EX. chassis to be ready tomorrow, the position is that the body is being collected by the Experimental Department on the same day. As regards the - 4th. It looks as if the bodies for these three were going to be later than the chassis except, perhaps, the last one. At first, I could not understand why this was so. I have, however, looked up some earlier memos and find that after the Conference we had in London with R.{Sir Henry Royce} on November 6th, when you were there, I wrote to Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} (who, as you know, is handling these bodies) and set out to him the dates which you had given us :- 1st chassis ready first/December 2nd " " third week December. 3rd & 4th " " before end January, 5th & 6th " " early February. The above shews that whereas the third chassis was down for before the end of January, it is ready tomorrow - the 4th chassis which was down before end January, is to be ready January 2nd the 5th & 6th chassis which were to be ready early February, will be ready one middle of January, and the other the end. -1- | ||
