IGNITION COIL. With further reference to our Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Wst.9/KT.4.4.33., page two where we refer to the relative merits of insulators at high temperatures we have now completed tests on a Bosch porcelain type insulator removed from a Bosch coil and the Bakelite insulator No. D.73612. Although the thickness of D.73613 is .080" greater than the Bosch the insulation resistance at 200°C. was 32.6 megohms as against practically infinity for the Bosch. We certainly ought to try H.T. insulators in this coil which have less leakage losses and we suggest on the next expl. coils to be instructed that we try out moulded "Steatite" or porcelain type insulators. This type of insulator is used universally by Delco Remy, De Jon, Bosch and Lucas. We are sending you herewith the Bosch insulator for your inspection. "s/Wst. | ||
