X-3439 RE CLUTCH CATCH Sales Dept. press us continuously for a device for holding the clutch out instead of using the little wooden block recommended by the Company. I cannot see any reason for recommending the wooden block to our customers and at the same time refraining from fitting a standard catch. The only difficulty I foresee is making the catch in such a way that it cannot be accidently put into operation. A perfectly safe scheme would be one which could not be put into oper- ation unless the gear were in neutral position. It is just possible that this could be arranged without com- plication. Will you please prepare schemes with and without inter-connection with the change speed lever. If you find the inter-connection scheme awkward do not attempt it. I have promised Sales that we will do this. Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} | ||
