RE EXPERIMENTAL REPORTS

This is to confirm that as previously arranged you report all experimental work in the report books provided and preserve these books so that at any time the reports will be available. The reason I wish this to be so is that after making the necessary copies of the reports which you send to the office, provided these are not filed directly, we do not subsequently keep the originals as otherwise we should get too great an accumulation of papers. In case of emergency therefore we would like to be able to rely upon the original records in your experimental report books.

On coming to the end of the report book and requesting a new one, the completed book should be sent up to the office and will be kept for purposes of reference in case such reference is required.

I do not mean that it need be sent up immediately but it should be sent up when it is not likely to be further required for purposes of reference down there.
