Dear Mr.Cowen,

I am writing to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 15th inst. from which I very much regret to note that you have experienced balancing trouble with one of the front wheels on Major Segrave's car, which is fitted with INDIA tyres.

Some little while ago I was of the opinion that this difficulty had arisen and as the India Tyre and Rubber Company were particularly anxious to give you tyre balance in accordance with your requirements, I asked their Works Manager to write direct to your Works at Derby and I enclose herewith a copy of his letter dated the 1st ult; I hope they have given him the necessary information.

I certainly think your Works' suggestion is a good one, and I would ask you to give instructions that in future they are to return any tyres which are more out-of-balance than can be overcome by the use of the balance weights - direct to the India Tyre & Rubber Company's Works at Inchinnan, when replacements will be forwarded to you.

In the meantime I can only assure you that very great care is being maintained at the works with the balancing of the tyres for your cars before they are despatched.

In conclusion, I very much appreciate your having brought this matter to my notice, and I am passing a copy of your remarks on to the Managing Director of the Company in question.

Yours truly,

(Sd) G.Bowman.
