[STAMP: RECEIVED NOV 8 1932]

Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited,
DERBY.

For the attention of Mr. W.A. Rowbotham.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 1st instant and shall be very pleased to carry out your instructions in respect of the Clutch Discs to your Drawings G.100480 and G.101057. We will let you have 6 RAD.13 for G.100480 and 6 VDM/20 for the other Part Number.

Referring to the friction characteristics of RAD.13 the writer has not experienced any serious fade in the co-efficient of friction at temperatures up to 260°C, and certainly nothing abnormal between 260° and 310°, that is to say - basing pressure on a moderately low coefficient of friction there should be no danger of clutch slip due to really substantial loss of friction at elevated temperatures. However, to clear the matter up some tests are being run at the present time and if the figures are available, they will be included with this letter; if not, by another post.

Yours faithfully,
FERODO LIMITED.

[Signature: F.{Mr Friese} J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Field]

CHIEF ENGINEER.
