I am handing you herewith the Ignition Coil number 2670 taken from the above car on the 6th inst. Apparently the car was returned due to the erratic running of coil ignition. The Test Dept. state that this appeared to be due to a partial breakdown of the coil.

Would you kindly examine the coil carefully and let me know precisely where the breakdown has taken place and what is the cause of it. In the meantime Mr Platford has replaced the coil by one from stock. I cannot definitely state what the replacement should be charged against until I have a report indicating what caused the breakdown.
