Dear Barclay, Thank you for your letter of the 31st inst. I thought we had improved your Bentley a lot, and was satisfied that when it left here it was really quite a nice car. The valve spring is interesting. In spite of the extreme care which we take with our valve spring wire, we do occasionally get isolated cases of failure, generally due to defects in the wire. We will carefully investigate the one in question. With regard to the chassis for your own use, I understand that 36-EF is particularly good, and should therefore recommend that you take this for yourself. Yours sincerely, | ||
