N.Sch.2578 appears to us to be a non-standard tank. Your drawing F.77952 we believe to be your latest type of 40/50 h.p. tank, but the unit is not in the revised position, that is to say, tilted and towards the rear of the tank.

If you will indicate its length and position in the standard tank we will make one up, or if on the other hand you really wish for one for trial to the unit as shown on N. Sch. 2578, we can probably scale this drawing sufficiently closely for experimental purposes.

We will also convert to the Sprengel unit, as the old Temple type is shown on this drawing. We have no calibrations at all of the tank to the form shown on this drawing.

In order that you may return to us for re-working and bringing up-to-date the gauge set which was fitted on the 40/50 h.p. chassis, which the writer and Mr. Robotham inspected yesterday, and from which the liquid had disappeared whilst the car was running on the road - we are sending you blank top plate to temporarily take the place of the tank unit whilst we are working on it.

We should be much obliged if you would return to us at the very earliest opportunity this gauge set -including tank unit and dash head - for re-working
