Reference your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/KW.22.2.36, I give below the returns concerning oil consumption since the first return made to W for the quarter ending June 1934:- June quarter........1934. Nil. September " ........1934. Nil. December " ........1934. Nil. March.... " ........1935. Nil. June.... " ........1935. 3. (1.C.W.series) (1.B.N. ") (1.D.G. ") September quarter...1935. 7. (2.BL series.) (1.CW ") (3.DK series.) โ x Rockers (1.EF ") December quarter...1935. 9. (1.BL series.) (1.BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} ") (4.DK ") โ High Oil Pressure . (1.DG ") x Rockers (1.EF ") (1.FB ") March quarter to date......... 8. (1.AH series.) (1.DK ") (1.DG ") (2.EJ ") (2.FB ") Analysing these returns and estimating that the affected area dates from the chassis No.B.189.DK, at which point the increased cylinder lubrication as per Depot Sheet Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}279 was carried out, then the June quarter shews three cars out of three outside the affected areas. September quarter shews five cars out of seven also outside the affected areas. Of the remaining two cars, one car was fitted with extra cylinder lubrication, the other with Aerolite pistons, but reversed rocker rods were the cause of the heavy oil consumption. -contd- | ||
