After further testing it has been decided that we should standardise the 6.5 - 1 compression .200" raised crown pistons to EB.4587 and offer the 7 - 1 compression .330" raised crown pistons to EB.4740 as an alternative to special order. The EB.4740 pistons already ordered will do for this purpose, and 300 of the EB.4587 pistons will be required for production. We should like to take this opportunity of pointing out that the designations 6.5 and 7 - 1 were based on the old .050" gasket and that the actual compressions obtained with the .030" gasket instructed are 6.59 and 7.15 - 1 respectively. The vernier control called for should be retained as being useful with either compression, and it is hoped that the governor curve for the 7 - 1 pistons Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux}3/WH.1.6.39. figure IV. will also be suitable for the 6.5 - 1 pistons. We will confirm this later. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M.
