To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} C. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} X 1944 606 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/APM.7/JH.6.4.36. Wraith Brakes. As promised we have connected up the hand brake lever to the same set of shoes on the brake pedal on a Bentley fitted with aluminium brake drums, with the object of determining whether it is possible to jam the hand brake on so hard that it is impossible to release. We find that it is possible to release it even under the most unfavourable circumstances, without using the direct bracing from the pedal to help release it. We find the latter of material assistance in relieving the load on the hand brake. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/APM. | ||
