16,500 Miles }
19,000 " }

Front shock damper failed. New type dampers are now running successfully on other cars - see item FRONT SUSPENSION in FAULTS list.

19,900 "

Exhaust downtake pipe failed. This pipe was of a thin gauge and was lagged. New heavier gauge pipe fitted unlagged - no further trouble.

33,100 "

Rear shock damper brackets loose where rivetted to frame. Welded to frame and no further trouble. We would suggest welding instead of rivets for production.

Steering.

The steering situation is exactly the same as in the last report with the addition of front Road Wheel Ball Races having failed on 10.B.V. at 10,300 miles and Mr. Breedons car at 10,348 and 3.B.50. at 62,000. It should be noted that 10.B.V. and Mr. Breedons car are fitted with wire wheels, and 3.B.50 with pressed steel wheels.

Gearbox.

We are still awaiting the necessary pieces to build up new type Gearboxes.

Front Suspension.

The total mileage of 700,500 given above does not include cars in customers hands. The latest type front dampers fitted to cars 12.B.V., 1.R.1., and Breedons car have run a total mileage of approximately 30,000 miles on our own chassis. We removed a pair of the latest type dampers from 10.B.V. and fitted them to Mr. Breedons car some months ago. We have no record of the mileage they have run on Mr. Breedons car to date, but we have not received any complaints from Him.

Brakes.

We have got over the trouble caused by oil and water getting into the Servo, but we have not yet found a complete cure for Servo groans. I would like to stress the fact that the latest type Servos are a perfect bundle of trouble and are in no way fit to go into production in their present state.

Alum brake drums have been run on four 4.B.50. a total of 11,700 miles.

During the last two winters we have had considerable trouble with the Hand Brake either sticking on or off
