X4037 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/AD. 7th November, 1929. Messrs. Benton & Stone Ltd. Bracebridge St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Birmingham. For the attention of Mr. Milner. Dear Sirs, Enots Petrol Filters. We have been troubled with petrol starvation at high speeds. We find that while the restriction caused by the filter element is low being only 5 pts/hr, that produced by the inlet and outlet passages is far too high being 21 pts/hr. We should be obliged if you would carry out some test to improve matters. As we use it, the filter is in the middle of ___ ft of 5/16 copper piping, the head between the autovac and the carburetter being ___ ft. If you use these dimensions you will be able to confirm our results. Will you please consider the matter as urgent. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
