Copy. EAGLE STAR & BRITISH DOMINIONS INSURANCE CO. LTD., Daily Mail Claims Dept., 67 Fleet St.{Capt. P. R. Strong}, London E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} C. 4. 26th June 1930. Allan V.{VIENNA} Nutt Esq., Solicitor, St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} James's Chambers, Derby. Dear Sir, Re V.{VIENNA} C. Halliwell decd. Your letter of the 24th inst. addressed to our clients the "Daily Mail" has been passed to us for attention and we confirm that we have a registration in the name of "V.{VIENNA} Halliwell" which we believe to be the registration of the deceased. As the result of our enquiries, we found that this registration was not in force at the time of the tragic occurrence as a few weeks prior to the accident the supply of the "Daily Mail" from the Derby Newsagent was suspended. In the circumstances it would appear that, unfortunately, we shall not be able to entertain the claim. Yours faithfully, I. Gardner. Claims Assessor. | ||
