FOLESHILL, COVENTRY. YOUR REF. OUR REF. GES/PBC/UT.186. Messrs.Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. 18th May 1938 For the attention of Mr.Grylls. Dear Sirs, With reference to your order No.61834, calling for ten 4.50-16" wire wheels built on to special 72V type shells, having a 30° front cone angle, we enclose herewith our drawing CDS.1323, which, with the exception of the balance weights, is identical with your drawing GB.3733. We have not previously produced a balance weight seating of the type shown on your drawing, and in order to eliminate delay and avoid the expense of a special pattern, we should be glad if you would agree to our adopting the standard seating as used on the 3.25-18" wheel. Your drawing number for this component is GB.725, and we have indicated this type on our drawing CDS.1323, from which it will be seen that the balance unit so fitted would still clear the brake drum. Yours faithfully, FOR THE DUNLOP RIM & WHEEL CO. LTD. Thos. S. Sharratt Technical Manager Encl: CDS.1323 [STAMP: 1888 1938 DUNLOP 50 YEARS OF GROWTH] | ||
