c. Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} 1370 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}5/MH.{M. Huckerby} Experimental Dept. 20th. May 1938. Dunlop Rim & Wheel Co. Ltd., Foleshill, COVENTRY. For the attention of Mr.Sharp. Dear Sirs, Thank you for your letter of the 18th. The balance weight clearance shown on your CDS.1323 seems to us rather small as the brake drum is actually further into the wheel. We have shown on the enclosed modified OB.3733 what we consider to be an adequate clearance. It necessitates a new balance weight base out of the present type. Can you make this for us and send us a drawing showing the dimensions of it where it fits on the rim? We realise a small pattern is required. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. Copy of Dunlop's letter 18th. May given to Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
