OBJECT OF TEST. Indicator Tests on Engine. TESTER. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham. CONDITIONS. Goshawk-11 engine on Test Bench. SUMMARY OF TEST. TESTS CARRIED OUT ON GOSHAWK 11. ENGINE FITTED WITH 110° CAMSHAFT. These figures represent the result of a number of tests with the R.A.E. Electrical indicator. It will be seen that the I.M.E.P. falls off at 2500 r.p.m. We believe this is due to the fact that the peak of the vol. efficiency curve is at 2000 r.p.m., the drop being fairly rapid, after this point. We have not included the θ Indicated Volumetric efficiencies because we do not consider that those we have obtained are altogether satisfactory due to the limitations of the disc valve we are using. We intend to continue investigations in this direction, however, and try to confirm our previous results. The thermal efficiencies were calculated contd:- | ||
