re Phantom III Petrol Filter.

With regard to the position of the petrol filter on Phantom III, I have heard that we now have 400 chassis on order with the filters in the side position on the frame.

This position weakens the body in every case and when the body is a sedanca or an all-weather we shall definitely have to instruct the scheme with the filter in the rear position on the second crossmember. In the meantime Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s tests at altitude in Spain have confirmed that the last mentioned scheme is satisfactory, and we shall be glad if he will issue a standardisation sheet as soon as possible covering it.

We have informed Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} that where Phantom III chassis are to be fitted with sedancas or all-weathers he should specify the filter on the second crossmember.

We should be glad to know how soon you could bring in this modification on production as a standard feature.
