We have tried out further finger springs on the cap of the above filler and find S.W.G.24 to be the most suitable. This spring requires a load of approx. 10 lbs. to fully close cap. B-56-BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} and 6-B-IV filler caps have now been fitted with S.W.G.24. We recommend that all further chassis with fillers on the side of body should be fitted with S.W.G.24. It is important that when finally fitted to a car that the faces of the cap lip and the retaining clip are parallel; otherwise should fouling take place between these faces at top or bottom, it increases the load required to close the cap considerably.
