Chassis 39-TW - Mr. Geoffrey Summers.

Thank you for H4/G11.10.21. As our policy is not to take part in races, I had already informed Captain Strong that we could not spend valuable time and energy at the Works at present in altering our touring cars to make them suitable for racing, as our cars were constructed for ordinary touring purposes and doubtless in such competitions they would have to compete with cars which were practically racers.

Even if we won such speed competitions it does us little good so far as our type of client is concerned, and is only likely to disappoint anyone who purchases our car afterwards with the idea that it can go at over one hundred miles an hour.

I sent Mr. Summers' letter to you only as a matter of interest in case you would like to see his opinion of the Bosch magneto, etc.

B.J.
