re CHASSIS NO. GTR-3.
Air Vice Marshal Longmore.
--------------

Referring to your Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}4/E.15.5.34., we received from Air Vice Marshal Longmore a letter dated the 11th inst., in which he said that he proposed to send his car to us on Monday, 28th May, for re-lining of brakes, de-carbonising and attention to timing gears.

At the same time he mentioned that he had finally decided not to fit any towing gear to this car but to retain an older car for the purpose of towing his horse trailer.

With regard to the fitting of a synchromesh box, we have discussed this with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, and he is looking into the possibility of supplying us with a synchromesh box complete with servo, equaliser and side levers.

We have looked into the whole question in detail and we find that in addition to a new propeller shaft, it will be necessary to fit a new crossmember behind the gearbox, a complete set of pedals, alter the silencer and intermediate pipe and move the existing fourth crossmember with equalisers 3½" further back.

Apart from the actual supply of the gearbox the approximate price to the Company will be £16:0:0 for material and £14:0:0 for labour, making a total of £30:0:0.

With regard to the last paragraph of your memo, arrangements will be made to submit the account for the other work to you before it is sent to the Owner.
