X477 21.2.34. CRICKLEWOOD COMPLAINTS. HOT SPOT NOISE. This has become pronounced since the series MY, MW, PY, came into production. These series have also had more trouble with noisy valves and valves sticking. CAM SHAFT RATTLES - PHANTOM. Cricklewood have got no results by fitting the washer to take up end play in the camshaft at the front end. Fitting a washer behind the bearing has cured the rattle. BOTTOM PIVOT PINS - PHANTOM. Cricklewood have found nuts loose and suspect the studs stretching. COIL FAILURES - LATEST TYPE. Failed on Chassis GAW, GHW, GSY (2), GBA, and GAU (2). 25 HP. STARTING HANDLE DOGS. Edges breaking off. PHANTOM THROTTLE STICKING. Latest type of spring will not definitely close the throttle. A double spring cures the trouble, the extra spring being fitted at the other side of the throttle lever, and anchored on to a stud in the carburetter plug boss. BENTLEYS AT PARK WARDS. On new Chassis delivered from Works the following units were found loose. (1) Torque reaction bolts fastening dampers to frame. There are no spring washers fitted under the nuts on Bentley. | ||
