4th. July 1929.

Messrs. The Dunlop Rubber Co.,
Fort Dunlop,
Erdington,
Birmingham.

Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr. Bond.

A quantity of 7" section tyres for 21" rims have been delivered in the Works. Details of these tyres were sent to us with your letter of the 24.4.29. We have however given you no information on them because actually we have had none of this size of tyre in the Expl: Dept:

The 8 tyres which you sent us were 7" tyres for 20" rims. We consider it would save confusion if you could inform us before any new type of tyre is sent to our Production Dept, so that we could tell you whether this tyre would be acceptable. In this case the 7" tyres are useless for any of our cars and they are therefore having to be returned.

While we appreciate that the 7" tyre may have an advantage over the 6.75" section we are at present using, we should like to know more about it. We should like to know whether it in any way fulfils the requirements which we asked for inour letter of the 14th. Jan. 1929 and the 7th. Dec. last year.

We are still most disappointed in the non-skid life of the silent tread tyre and should appreciate some information as to what you are doing with regard to meeting our requirements in this particular.

You will understand that we shall be able to take a much more intelligent interest in the testing of a new type of tyre if we know exactly where it differs from its predecessor and what particular line of improvement
