BIJUR TANK.

We have had no further trouble with the bijur tank since the fitting of the steel washer, replacing the cork washer. There does not appear to be anything detrimental with the fitting of the steel washer. We have tried with the tank empty and have not observed anything detrimental. We would however, recommend that a bakelite washer be used to replace the cork washer.

LUCAS WINDSCREEN WIPER.

The new Lucas Windscreen Wiper, fitted as previously stated, as so far given no trouble. This wiper will have to be watched during further mileage of the car to obtain definite results.

NEW TYPE ENGINE GUARDS.

As previously reported, the engine guards are very good for keeping the engine clean when running under adverse conditions. Attention has been drawn to the weakness of these and the D.O. are looking into the matter.

FRONT & REAR APRONS.

As previously reported, we have had considerable trouble with the aprons becoming loose and causing rattles. We have replaced the screws holding the front apron by bolts, and this has not given any further trouble. The rear, however, has still become loose and rattled. We would also like to point out that the cover over the filter on the rear apron is causing a bad chatter and is wearing away the apron. We have not come across any other defects.

ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.

The dynamo output has been entirely satisfactory throughout the mileage. The battery has remained fully charged. We have throughout the mileage run 6 hours each day with the Head, Side and Tail Lamps switched on. We have had a slight dynamo brush noise occasionally. Examination of the commutator and brushes show them to have remained in very good condition. There is no sign of any undue dust or oil on the commutator or brushes. The ignition contact arm that was fitted, as previously reported, has not since given any trouble. We have however, had several occasions when the engine has started to misfire after a prolonged run at 60 MPH. We have not been able to definitely locate the trouble, but we suspect that it is caused through a partial failure of the coil. We shall have the coil tested when the car is returned to Works.

CUTOUT.

We have had no trouble with the cutout and the condition of the contacts is very good. There has been no sign of burning.
